The attached report of an inspection performed at the subject

'vif, facility by Region III personnel on March 25 and 26,1971, is forwarded for information.
Two items of noncompliance were noted in connection with discharge of laundry waste. Accordingly, a Form AEC-592 was issued to the licensee on April 211/
j The inspector has reported on the results of his examination of several incidents or occurrences which.have.been. encountered at the site. The inspector has discussed these occurrences with plant management expressing our concerns. We will continue to pursue the areas of operator error, adequacy of procedures, and the results of surveillance testing. The licensee is aware of our concern and has taken steps to cope with these problems.
The inspector has reported on control rod performance at the facility to date. We note that rather.ninor performance problems have been encountered to date, however, we do not consider this to be suf-ficient justification to relax our efforts in this area at present.
We also note that feedwater pump problems continue at the site.
We have not observed a significant safety problem in connection with their performance to date. We believe that the licensee has 1/ CO Rpt No. 263/71-5.
