Mr. D. Dempsey and Ms. M. Banerjee of this office on May 15 - June 25,1990 at
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit

ings were discussed by Mr. Dempsey with Mr._J. Stetz and others of your staff

at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection are described in the NRC Region I inspec-
tion report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the in-
spection consisted of observation of setivities, interviews with personnel, and
document reviews.
Your activities regarding a postulated high energy line break of the house
heating steam system, and the potential overloading of the gas turbine gener-
ator under certain accident conditions demonstrate a high regard for safe oper-
ation of Millstone Unit 1.
