i'k NOTICE OF VIOLATION Lionel General-License-(1GCFR31.5)
Mt. Clemens, Michigan As a result' of the inspection conducted on June 7,199T, and in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
.10.CFR Part 2, Appendix C, (1989) (Enforcement Policy) the following violation was = identified:'
10 CFR 31.-5(c)(8) requires that any person who acquires receives, possesses, uses, or transfers byproduct material in a device pursuant to the general-license in Paragraph (a) of this section, transfer or dispose of the device only by transfer to a person holding a specific license to receive the device.-
- Contrary to the above, ~during the' period March 1989 to February 1990, one NRD Model P2031 and three NRD Model P2051 static elimination devices containing a, nominal'10 millicuries of; polonium-210 each were transferred or disposed of in; an unauthorized manner.
This is a Severity Level IV violation (Supplement VI).
The inspection showed-that steps had been taken to correct the identified violation and to-prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to the
