On March 29, 1989,- Carolina Power 6 Light Company (CP&L) submitted a license amendment request for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit 1.

The proposed' amendment consists of several changes that will permit an expanded operating domain for the Brunswick unit.

The necessary Technical Specification pages are provided for your convenience in issuance of the proposed req'aest.

The March 29, 1989 request included a discussion regarding implementation of this amendment, liarovare modifications are scheduled to be performed during

- the next refueling outage. Therefore, it is requested that this amendment be effective as of the date of Unit 1 shutoown for Reload 7 refueling outage with implementation to follow within 120 days of the unit shutdown.
