8/6/82 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION BEFORE THE ATOMIC SAFETY AND LICENSING BOARD In the Matter of SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, Docket Nos. 50-361 OL ET AL, 50-362 OL (San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 2 and 3) s NRC STAFF CONFIRMATION OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS ITEMS In accordance with the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board's Initial Decision (ID) of May 14, 1982, LBP-82-39, attached is the affidavit of David B. Matthews which certifies that the siren system has been shown to perform in accordance with its technical specifications (ID 1 V.C.1 at 214 and 1 10 at 172). The affidavit further addresses all other matters identified by the Licensing Board as requiring confirmation prior to issuance of a license authorizing full-power operation. The matter of ingestion pathway EPZ planning will be addressed by the Staff in a safety evaluation to accompany issuance of the amendment to Operating License No. NPF-10, authorizing full-power operation.
