1. Objective of Proposed Work The objective of the proposed work is for Pacific Northwest Laboratory to provide support to the U.S. NRC, Division of Licensing, for the relicensing of the non-power (Argonaut) reactor at UCLA.
o. 2. Summary of Prior Efforts .. - - -

In a previous project INRC FIN No. B-2313) S. C. Hawley, R. L. Kathren and M. A. Robkin prepared the report NUREG/CR-2079, " Analysis of Credible Accidents for Argonaut Reactors." For the same project S. C. Hawley responded

by sworn affidavits to two cont'eritlons tflat were a part of the summary disposition activities for the UCLA non-power reactor relicensing.

3. Work to be Performed and Expected Results Task 1 Responses to Interrogatories From the interrogatories directed to the authors of NUREG/CR-2079 by intervenors, the NRC has selected certain interrogatories for response .

S. C. Hawley, R. L. Kathren and M. A. Robkin will provide their responses to the selected interrogatories in sworn, notarized affidavits. The responses will be provided as long as the information requested is readily available, that is if the answers are already in NUREG/CR-2079 or in a cited reference or in a text or commonly found reference. Furthermore, answers will be provided only if it is not necessary to generate new data.

Task 2 Testimony aIHearings If required, S. C. Hawley will attend relicensing hearings for the UCLA non-power reactor to explain or interpret the research and results that pertain to NUREG/CR-2079. The work for this task was estimated to total 3 $
