SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at 89.66% of rated thermal power for the month.

Gross electrical generation was 334,421 MWH or 86.01%of design electrical

capacity.

Operating Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

At the beginning of the reporting period, the plant was operating at 99%

of rated thermal power.

820608 At 1212 hrs.a plant shutdown was initiated to investigate increasing drywell temperature. See unit shutdowns &. power seductions.

At 1658 the generator was taken off the grid.

At 1729 hrs. the reactor was manually scrammed.

820610 At 1644 hrs, a reactor start up was initiated.

At 1722 the reactor was critical 820611 At 0355 hrs. the generator was phased on to the grid.

At the end of the reporting period, the plant was operating at 99% of rated thermal power.
