SHIFT TECHNICAL ADVISOR (STA)

This letter is in response to your request dated June 30, 1982, for an extension of the use of the Shift Technical Advisor (STA) as a member of the fire brigade.

In a letter dated August 6: 1981, we approved the interin use of the STA as a ner>ber of the fire brigade until July 1,1982, when the increased staffing requirements specified in UUREG-0737, " Clarification of TitI Action Plan Requirements," were met. Your letter of February 1, 1982, stated that you would nect the July 1,1932 commitnent contingent upon an expeditious review of the operator examinations and issuance of the licenses by the fiRC. Since the operator licenses have not yet been issued, you have requested an extension of the use of the STA as a fire-brigade member until 30 days after the receipt of these licenses.

Your June 30, 1982 letter states that you expect the appropriate candidates will pass.the examination. This will permit you to fully neet the staffing requirenents of HUREG-0737. This will allow you to relieve the STA of the fire-brigade duties. We, therefore, find that g@/

the use of the STA as a fire-brigade member until 30 days after the receipt of the operator licenses is acceptable.
