Dear Mr. Martin:
l Your Inspection Report No. 50-410/82-04 identified an unresolved item no.
l 50-410/82-04-02 related to cable tray separation criteria. Although a written l
response to the Inspection Report was not required, the information below is provided in response to requests by members of your staff.
EDC-5 will be issued to the field as an appendix to the Electrical
(
Installation Specification E061A by July 1, 1982. EDC-5 will be revised to clarify the dimensional requirements for cable tray separation as well as other separation criteria.
Regarding the use of fire barriers for cable trays in certain areas, the notes requiring use of fire barriers were intentionally lef t off the drawing because the material to be utilized for fire barriers had not been i
identified. This practice will be discontinued. All existing and future l
cable installation drawings will be reviewed to assure that if fire barriers are required, the appropriate notes are included on the drawings.
