June 30, 1982 Mr. Lynn M. McCrum Village Manager Village of Briarcliff Manor 1111 Pleasantville Road Briarcliff Manor, New York 10510 Re:

Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Indian Point, Unit No. 2) - Power Authority of the State of New York, (Indian Point, Unit No. 3) - Docket Nos.

50-247-SP and 50-286-SP Dear Mr. McCrump I have received your letter of June 22, 1982, which enclosed the resolution passed by the Briarcliff Manor Board of Trustees on June 17, 1982. As you probably know, many of the concerns ex-pressed by the Trustees are matters which will be examined in detail in a hearing before an Atomic Safety and Licensing Board of which I am a member.

I am enclosing a copy of this Board's l

Memorandum and Order of April 23, 1982, in which we set forth the l

matters (formally called " contentions") on which we will take evidence.

I would especially direct your attention (and that of the Trustees) to the contentions admitted under Commission Questions 3 and 4 (pages six through eighteen of the Memorandum and Order).

These are, I believe, the ones which most directly address the Trustees' concerns. We heard some testimony on these matters during the week of June 21 at the Ceremonial Courtroom (Courtroom No.1) in the new County Courthouse, Martine Ave. and Grove St.,

in White Plains. We will hear further evidence at that same loca-tion starting at 9:30 A.M. on July 6.

While the schedule mentioned in the Memorandum and Order may be changed to accommodate the case l

as it progresses, ample notice of future hearing sessions will be l

routinely provided through the public media.
