Report No. 50-416/82-26
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. P. Ang of this
office on April 6-9, 1982, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit
No. CPPR-118 for the Grand Gulf facility.
Our preliminary findings were dis-
cussed with Mr. G. B. Rogers, of your staff, at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with-
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
During the inspection, it was found that certain activities under your license
appear to violate NRC requirements.
This item and references to pertinent
requirements are listed in the Notice of Violation enclosed herewith as
Appendix A.
Elements to be included in your response are delineated in
Appendix A.
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported
unresolved items. The status of these items is discussed in the enclosed report.
One new unresolved item is identified in the enclosed inspection report. This
item will be examined during subsequent inspections.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures will
be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by
telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written applica-
tion to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the date of
this letter.
Such application must be consistent with the requirements of
2.790(b)(1).
The responses directed by this letter and the enclosures are not subject to the
clearance procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
