Dear ?!r. Spessard:
This letter is in reference to Inspection Report 82-02 dated April 8, 1982 (Log 1-612) for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1 and the response to that inspection report dated ?!ay 3, 1982 (Serial 1-265) identifying the corrective action taken to resolve the non-compliance.
Section (3) of our response to Inspection Report 82-02 identified the date when full compliance was achieved.
In clarifying the response, there are two actions which must be completed to achieve full compliance. The first is to incorporate the major modification identified in the response into procedure ST 5099.08, which was completed and distributed on December 22, 1981. The second action is to test the valves which were not exercised during cold shutdown on November 16-30, 1981. As of ?! arch 31, 1962, four of the five containment isolation check valves CV 125, SA 502, IA 501, and NN 38 have been tested.
Containment isolation check valve CV 124 will be tested as a prerequisite to entering 21 ode 4.
Therefore, full compliance will be reached prior to startup following the current refueling outage.
