7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMftISSION DOCKET NO. 50-334 DUQUESNE LIGHT COMPANY OHIO EDIS0N COMPANY PENNSYLVANIA POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Ccenission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 50 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-66 issued to Duquesr.e Light Company, Ohio Edison Company, and Pennsylvania Power Company (the licensees), which revised Technical Specifications for operation cf Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No.1 (the facility) located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.

The amendment changes the allowable test time for solid state protection system instrumentation channels and the purge and exhaust valve isolation requirements.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations.

The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior public notice of this amendment was not F e:uired since this amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

- The Connission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and thatpursuant to 10 CFR 551.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this amendment.

For further details with respect to this action, see (1) the application for amendment dated November 9, 1 981, (2) Amendment No.50 to License No.

DPR-66 and (3) the Comission's related Safety Evaluation.
