for a visit by the HRC staff and its consultants to your control r The objective of this visit is to prepare a preliminary evaluation of the control room with regard to the following:
The adequacy of information presented to the operator to reflect 1.
plant status for normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, and accident conditions; 2.
The groupings of displays and the layout of panels; Improvements in the safety monitoring and human factors enhancement 3.
of controls and control displays; The comunication from the control room to points outside the control 4.

(This comunication link must also be coordinated with new requirements for transmission of plant systems data to NRC);

Three qualified control room operators to assist the staff for the duration of the visit; Permission to use photogpaphic equipment in the control room; 3.

- humidity / temperature measurement equipment
- sound measurement equipment 7.
Access to a copying machine; 8.
A briefing and debriefing' with plant management capable of committing to control room changes.
A minimum of two weeks prior to our visit, we request that you send us the following:
1.
A list of abbreviations used on Panels / Systems / Subsystems; 2.
A description of the control room color code standard; and 3.
The name(s) and phone number (s) of the contact (s) at the control room.
We expect to be at the Waterford security gate at about 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 10, 1982.
