Dear 11r. Ilukill:
ile have received your letter dated !! arch 17, 1982 concerning pressurized themal shock (PTS) to the reactor pressure vessel. Your letter indi-cated that you intend to submit your second phase response (150 day response) to the flRC letter dated Decerber 18, 1981 after the final mixing analysis validated by experinental results has been ccrpleted for the T!!I-l plant by the Bfil Owner's Group subject to your review. Your estinated date by which this analysis would be sent to the IIRC staff is June 1982.
He agree that a nore realistic nixing nodel is appropriate in projecting reactor vessel useful life for T!1I-1. The staff has targeted a presen-tation to the Commission on PTS during June 1982. The availability of your analysis results on THI-l not later than the first week of June would permit consideration of Tl11-1 results by the staff in addition to the results already provided on one other BfW plant, Oconce 1.
He believe therefore, that it is important for you to expedite the analysis and your review so that the T111-1 results can be available for Comission review.
Sincerely.
