Dear Mr. Vassallo:

On May 19, 1982, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) responded to Mr. D. G. Sisenhut's Generic Letter 82-03 for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2.

On June 1, 1982, NRC and CP&L held a conference call to discuss our respor.ae to Generic Letter 82-03 As a result of this conversation, CP&L is providing the following clarification to our response.

For the Brunswick Plant, CP&L endorses the General Electric (GE) application of the NRC approved, but unapplied, ECCS evaluation model changes to offset Maximum Average Planar Linear Heat Generation Rate (MAPLHGR) penalties as referenced in G8's May 6, 1981 letter to NRC.
