Dear Mr. Keppler:
As stated in our correspondence to you dated November 25, 1981, an inspection was to be conducted to evaluate a potential link rod deficiency in the Standby Diesel Generators supplied by Transamerica Delaval to the Perry Nuclear Power Plant Project. A final report outlining the results of this inspection and proposed corrective action was to be submitted to you by June 1, 1982.
It was determined by the Perry Project Organization that this inspection will again be conducted during engine crankshaft deflection testing. This activity has again been rescheduled due to delays delays in the completion of diesel engine installation.
It is now estimated that this inspection will be completed by December 1, 1982, and our final report on this subject will be submitted by December 10, 1982.
