JOINT INTERVENOR'S RESPONSE IN SUPPORT OF MOTION FOR ORDER DIRECTING PGandE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON DESIGN ERRORS On May 13, 1982, Governor Brown moved this Board for an order directing Pacific Gas and Electric Company ("PGandE")

to provide full information to all parties regarding (1) the status of PGandE's investigation into the errors identified in Board Notification PNO-5-82-09, and (2) the status of PGandE's actions pursuant to I&E Information Notice 82-11.

The Joint Intervenors support the Governor's motion.

The relevance of the cited Notices to reopened contention 12, regarding reactor coolant system valves, has already been-recognized by this Board in its order deferring decision pending determination of the significance of the conceded design errors. Since the Board's order, PGandE has provided no information regarding the investigation, if any, which it has initiated in response to the Board's concern. In order to 1

keep this Board and all parties fully informed of the status of'the valve reverification, PGandE should be directed to provide immediately any and all data relevant to the issue.
