This refers to your May 6,1982 reply to our April 6,1982 letter.
Thank you for infoming us of your corrective and preventive actions. Those
actions will be examined during future inspections.
In regard to Violation A.2 for flange edge softeners not being installed, we
believe that you agree that deviations from design requirements may be accom-
p11shed only through the prescribed change method and that installations may
not be modified just because craftsmen and inspectors decide that specific
design features are not required. Should our estimate of your position be
incorrect, please notify us in writing within seven days.
