Dear Mr. Miraglia :
On behalf of the New England Coalition on Nuclear Pollution, an intervenor in the Seabrook operating licensing proceeding, I am seeking information on the relevance of several NRC IE notices to the Seabrook facility.
In doing so, I have been referred to your office by Mr. Roy Lessy, counsel for the NRC Staff in the Seabrook licensing proceeding.
I would appreciate as prompt a reply as possible, as your answers will be helpful in determining whether to file contentions on these issues, for which the filing period is limited.
My questions are the following :
1.
Does IE Information Notice No. 82-13, re:
" Failures of General Electric Type HFA Relays, " apply to the Seabrook facility?
If so, in what areas of the reactor are LEX AN or NYLON coil spools used?
2.
Does IE Information Notice No. 82-14, re :
"TMI-l Steam Generator / Reactor Coolant System Chemistry /
Corrosion Problem, " apply to the Seabrook facility?
If so, how ?
3.
Does IE Bulletin No. 81-0 3, re :
" Flow Blockage of Cooling Water to Safety System Components by Corbicula sp. and Mytilus sp.," apply to the Seabrook facility?
If so, how?
