Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safeguards material control- and accountability
,
inspection, conducted by Mr. A. G. Finley of this office on April 27-30,
1982, of' activities at the Palisades Nuclear Generating Plant authorized
by NRC Operating License No. DPR-20 and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. H. Palmer, Technical Superintendent and other plant staff members
at the conclusion of the inspection.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and in-
terview.i with personnel.

No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during the
cours'e of this inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection concern a subject matter which is
excmpt from disclo'sure according to Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of
Practice," Part,.2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Consequently,

our repor,t of this inspection will not be placed in the Public Document
Rocm.
