SUBJECT:

NRC/SEABROOK COMMUNICATIONS REGARDING THE DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT Approximately three weeks ago I informed Seabrook of the status of the Draft Environmental Statement by providing Yankee Atomic Electric Company a copy of a working draft. No feedback from Seabrook was expected.

Yankee returned approximately one dozen pages marked up with incidental editorial remarks (i.e., typographical errors, etc.). All these markups were brought to the attention of the cognizant review branch.

In one case Environmental Engineering Branch, the source of the coments was ider.tified by me as being the applicant, and it was made clear that anything related to content, conclusions, substance, etc. should therefore be ignored.

No words have been added to or removed from the staff text as a result of any of the remarks volunteered by the applicant.

OELD had not been previously advised of either the providing of the working draft to Yankee Atomic or the receipt of comments from Yankee Atomic.
