REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE - UNIT 1 EMERGENCY FEEDWATER SYSTEM At!TOMATIC INITIATION AND FLOW'1RDICATION The electrical schematics recently provided for the steam turbine-driven emergency feedwater (EFW) pump steam admission valve (Drawing No. E-295, Sheet 1 of 2, Revision 16) and the motor-driven EFW pump (Drawing E-294, Revision 5-2) show single Emergency Feedwater Initiation and Control (EFIC) contacts in the valve opening and pump start circuits respectively. What is the configuration of the channels A and B initiation signals that provide a logical "or" valve open or pump start signal? It is further requested that the electrical drawings that support this response be submitted.
We also request a clarification of Item 2.1.4.1.c of your submittal dated December 1,1981, concerning the safety grade status of the EFW initiation and control system. Will the entire system including the control valves be safety grade?
