Virginia Electric and Power Conpany, Richmond, VA (Surry, Unit 1)

PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTY - $50,000 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars
($50,000) will be issued to the Virginia Electric and Power Company on or about May 10, 1982. This action is based on one violation concerning the failure to follow procedures which resulted in exceeding a limiting condition for operation.
A news release will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Notice.
The State of Virginia will be notified.
It should be noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Action Signed 5/F/82 Mailing of Notice 5/lt.'82 Telephone Notification of Licensee 5/10/J2 The licensee has 30 days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
Following NRC Staff evaluation of the response, the civil penalties may be remitted, mitigated or imposed by Order.
