Dear Mr. Cavanaugh:

Mceh By letter dated January 30, 1981, you responded to our letter date January 14, 1981 concerning transient-induced errors in the neutron fiux detector readings in Btal reactors. We have reviewed your responses in addition to responses from other licensees of other operating D&W plants. We have concluded that for operating B&W reactors that limits on DNS and center fuel melt are not exceeded because of these errors and no changes are required for present operating parameters.

Our associated Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed. Ue, therefore, consider this issue resolved.
