Pursuant to the requirements of NRC I&E Bulletin 80-13, " Cracking In Core Spray Spargers," please be advised that a visual examination was performed on the Hatch Unit 2 Core Spray spargers and associated piping during the maintenance / refueling outage currently in progress.
The results were satisfactory and are as follows:
Using remote underwater television cameras (with the required viewing in situ of 0.001 in. diameter fine wires), no cracking of the Core Spray spargers or section of piping between the inlet nozzle and the vessel shroud was detected.
