SEP TOPIC III-10. A. THERMAL-0VERLOAD PROTECTION FOR MOTORS OF MOTOR-0PERATED VALVES, REVISED SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT FOR BIG ROCK POINT NUCLEAR POWER PLANT is our contractor's Final Technical Evaluation Report on Topic III-10. A.
This report has been modified to reflect the additional infor-mation provided in Mr. Vincent's letter of February 26, 1982. is the staff's revised Safety Evaluation Report (SER). Our SER is based on Enclosure 1.
The staff has concluded that the thermal-overload protection for motor-operated valves should be tested periodically.
The need to actually implement this change to the current test program will be determined during the integrated safety assessment. This topic assess-ment may be revised in the future if your facility design is changed or if NRC criteria relating to this topic cre modified before the integrated as-sessment is completed.
