members of our respective staffs on April 8 and 9,1982, concerning-the ~
adequacy of your response to IE Bulletin 80-06, " Engineered Safety Feature (ESF) Reset Controls," dated March 13, 1980. During our discussion in a meeting in the Region IV office on April 8, and in telephone discussions on April 9, you indicated that you would reevaluate the ac'tions taken in response to IE Bulletin 80-06 to include:
a.
An engineering review of the electrical schematics for Unit 2 to identify all ESF components to be considered as required by IE Bulletin 80-06.
b.
Identification of ESF components which have not been tested as specified in Action Statement 2 of IE Bulletin 80-06.
c.
Evaluation of the safety implications of this failure to test. This safety evaluation would be documented and furnished to this office by April 16, 1982.
d.
Identification of any valves or other ESF components not modified as specified in IE Bulletin 80-06 and provision of your Dasis for not modifying them.
e.
Confimation that testing was performed to verify the adequacy of modification for any valves or ESF components previously modified to confom to guidance of Action Statement 3 of IE Bulletin 80-06.
f.
Definition of testing and any additional modifications necessary to be fully responsive to the actions specified in IE Bulletin 80-06 by April 16, 1982, such that these activities may be accomplished at the earliest opportunity for Unit 2, but not later than restaption of e'
operation following the next cold shutdown.

For Unit 1, evaluate the actions taken and correspondence previously furnished to the Nuclear Regulatory Comission to identify the need for additional corrective action or testing required as a result of the evaluations being perfonned for Unit 2.
You also indicated that if any problems are identified during your review of the schematics or perfonnance of testing, which after your verification would alter the conclusions previously reported to the Nuclear Regulatory Comission relative to IE Bulletin 80-06, you would promptly report this matter to us for our evaluation.
