In the Matter of Consumers Power Company (Big ITl Rock Point Nuclear Power Plant), Docket No.

50-155-OLA (Spent Fuel Pool Modification)

Gentlemen:

I an enclosing the revised testimony of Mr. Roger W.

Sinderman concerning O'Neill Contention IIE-4.

This testimony supersedes Mr. Sinderman's prior testimony on this contention.

His prior test' mony was filed on December 7, 1981, pursuant to the schedule established by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.

Mr. Sinderman revised his original testimony to re-flect the latest data available with respect to the postulated source term for accident evaluations.

As Mr. Sinderman's re-vised testimony states at page 4, the fission products derived from the use of TID-14844 should be augmented by the experi-ence of the accident at Three Mile Island, namely 100% of the radioiodines and semivolatile elements of cesium, tellurium, ruthenium, and cerium.

The addition of these fission products caused a change to the calculated doses on pages 5 and 6.

Shon April 26, 1982 Page 2 In addition, Mr. Sinderman reorganized pages 2-4 of his original testimony in order to present a more clear dis-sertation on the assumptions and rationales used to establish the parameters of his analysis.

Mr. Sinderman does not con-sider his testimony changed in any substantive manner by this editing exercise.

Counsel does not consider this action to be preju-dicial to any parties' position in this proceeding.

It was i

simply necessary, under the full-disclosure mandate of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to correct Mr. Sinderman's original testimony as stated above.

The revised testimony will be offered into evidence at the hearings scheduled to commence on June 7, 1982.

The parties will have had ample time by June 7 to compare the two pieces and to develop any appropriate cross-examination.

Sincerely, Jos ph Gallo Enclosure JG/pm cc:
