Safety Evaluation and Environmental Impact Appraisal Re Spent Fuel Storage Pool Re: Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 & 2 I am enclosing a copy of the Safety Evaluation and an Environmental Impact Appraisal prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation supporting proposed facility modifications to increase the capacity of the Spent Fuel Storage Pool at Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos.1 and 2.
These documents are related to your application dated March 26, 1981 and supplemented by letters dated May 24 July 24, August 19 September 21, October 19, l
November 2 and December 29, 1981, January 27 and March 12, 1982.
Although these documents indicate our acceptance of your proposed modifications to increase the capacity of the spent fuel storage pools for Quad Cities Station Units 1 and 2, final approval of these actions cannot be granted until the issues currently before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board are resolved.
