HRC ACCEPTANCE OF BABC0CK & WILCOX QA TOPICAL REPORT, REVISION 4
.Your letter of March 4,1982 transmitted Revision 4 to the Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) topical report BAW-10096A, "B&W NPGD Quality Assurance Program for Nuclear Equip-ment." The B&W topical report, through Revision 3, was previously reviewed and accepted by the NRC for referencing in license applications as indicated in our letter of July 8,1977.
Revision 4 provides comitments to a number of more recent revisions to regulatory guides, a description of organizational changes, 1
and editorial changes.
Based on our review and evaluation of Revision 4, we find that the criteria in Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 sre met.
Your amended topical report is, therefore, acceptable, and you may implement it upon your issuance of the amendment.
3 For new license applications, we will compare Revision 4 to Section 17.1 of Revi-sion 2 of the Standard Review Plan (NUREG-0800). The results of this review will be fomarded to you upon completion.

Should regulatory criteria or regulations change such that our conclusions about this topical report am invalidated, we will notify you. You will be given the i
opportunity to revise and resubmit it should you so desire.
Programmatic changes t
by B&W to this topical report are to be submitced for review prior to implementa-tion. Organizational changes are to be submitted no later than 30 days after announcement.
Please replace our letter of July 8,1977 and its enclosure with a copy of this letter and its enclosure in your topical report, renumber the report BAW-10096A (Revision 4), and resubmit 33 copies of the amendment to the NRC. Your submit-tal should point out the changes by use of a blac! bar in the margin whem a change has been made, and the revision number should be adjacent to the bar.
