PROPOSED BOARD NOTIFICATION ON MIDLAND i
Attached is a proposed Board Notification based upon the SALP Report findings on Midland Plant, Units 1 and 2, for the assessment period July 1,1980 to June 30,1981. Breakdown in the applicants QA program with respect to soils related activities was.one of the points of our December 6,1979 order.
Also, during the instant OM, OL hearing for the deficient backffil soils at the Midland site, the Licensing Board has specifically requested to be kept infomed of infomation bearing upon the effectiveness of the revised organization and programs directed to quality assurance and quality control.
The SALP Report findings attached to enclosed J. A. Hind's letter of April 20, 1982 are material and relevant to the instant OM, OL hearing. An earlier SALP II report was discussed at the OM, OL hearing on December 15, 1981.
Applicant coments on the SALP findings are due 20 days following the meeting of April 26, 1982 held to review the findings with the applicant. tle will notify the Board the results of the final SALP.
