Any releases are not expected to ex ceed PAG expc sure levels, except near the site boundary.

ACTTnN NOTE This action is to be taken by the Health Physics Supervi=.or or designated alternate, whenever possible, or by other trained personnel.

1.

Obtain the following equipment from the Emergency Kit or from the HP Office:

High Range Survey Meter High Range Dosimeter GM Survey Instrument and Wipes MSA A.tr Park SCRA Protective Clothing Air Sampler 2.

Turn instriments on and allow them to warm up.

3.

Don the protective cloth.ing and +he SCBA.* Proceed toward area whern the emergency exists making survey as you go.

If any of the following readings are observed retreat 3

immediately and notify the Control Room Geta, Gamma - any reading above 5 R/hr Contaminatini. - 10,000 cpm above background on a wipe 4.

Rope off and post areas of hign air activity or radiation as conditions permit.

. Determine habitability of health physi.c,s, laboratory and counting room areas.

Report to Control Room.

NOTE The primary means of communication wi'h the control room, ECF and TSC will be through the use of the plants telephone system.

If this system should become inoperable, then the page will act as the backup means of communication.

8.

Assist Control Room personnel when requested in evaluating the e:. tent of radioactive material released or potential for releane, using eff)uent monitor readings or other air samplers readily availab]e, meterological instrumentation, and procedures HNP-4350 and HNP-4851 to estimate dose rates to persons beyond the p] ant site boundary.

9.

Notify Shift Foreman if conditions exist that would cause a person at or beyond the plant site boundary to receive radiation exposure at General Emergency levels or action levels in HNP-4851.

10.

Communicate with the Emergency Operations Facility and/or Technical Support Center in determining extent of the activity release.

11.

Document survey findings on standard health physics survey forms; report findings and present completed survey forms to H.P.

Supervision for approval ano Filing.

12.

Return to the O.S.C when released by the Shift Foreman or H.P.

Supervisor.

Obtain the following equipment from the emergency kit or from the HP Office:

Turn instruments on and allow them to warm up.

3.

Don the protective clothing and the SCBA.

Proceed toward area where the emergency exists making a
