In the Sa fe ty Evaluat ion Report issued with Amendment 22 to the Technical Specifications, we were provided the capability to utilize the acceptance standards as defined in the 1977 Edition of Section XI for cases where the standards in the 1974 Code, Summer 1975 addenda were in the course of p repa ra t ion.
This was applied to Articles IWC-3000 and IWD-3000 components "Evalua t ion of Examina tion Results".
Since that tine, we have found it necessary to apply the Section XI 1977 Edition (no addenda) in IWB-3000 for Surface Examination acceptance criteria on the Statically and Centrifugally cast reactor coolant piping. This was necessary since the 1974 Edition of Section XI did not specify acceptance criteria appropriate for surface examinations of Class IWB-3000 Components.
In accordance with 10CFR50.55a(g)(5)(if i), we have determined that conformance to the 1974 code for Evaluation of Surf ace Examination Results in IWil 3000 is inpractical; therefore, we have applied the acceptance criteria specified in article IWil-3000 for surface examinations in the 1977 Edition f or Class I components.
