Minimum Separation Criteria for Electrical Cabels and Raceways N,/
Subject; Shoreham Nuclear Power Station In your letter of February 18,1982 (SNRC-670), you requested clarification of options 3 and 4 for achieving acceptable resolution of the minimum separation criteria for electrical cables and raceways as setforth in our letter of August 31, 1981. We concur with your interpretation for option 3.
As for your interpretation of option 4, it appears that you are attempting to utilize the separation analysis that was presented to the NRC staff on February 10, 1981. Since an evaluation of the separation analysis would require a substantial systems review effort by the NRC staff, your proposed revision to option 4 is not viable.
I encourage you to adopt options 1, 2, or 3.
Option 4 will require a specific analysis for each deficiency.
