Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 San Onof re Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 Enclosed are seven sets (Hail Code B023) of drawings and associated information for the seismic trip system to the same level of detail as normily provided in Saction 1.7 of the FSAR. These drawings co@lete our commitment mde in response to ICSB Item 3 in the November 10, 1981 letter from SCE to the NRC.
Reference to these drawings will be incorporated into the FSAR and direct distribution of this reference will be made as part of Amendment 29 distribution and will be in accordance with the service list provided by SCE's letter of May 18, 1981. An affidavit attesting to the fact that distribution has been co@leted will be provided within ten days of docketing of Amendment 29.

In response to AGS concerns, Southern California Edison Caspany has procured V
a seis=ic reactor trip system for it's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, 4
Units 2 and 3.
The fcur triaxial accelerometers will be positioned approximately 90# apart on the periphery of the contain=ent structure in the tendon gallery as shown in sketch 1 of 2 (attached).

output contacts connected in series to praide a one out of three lo61c. Each, of the Plant Protection System (PPS) channels A, B, C and D V11 monitor one-of the four triaxial packages.
The PPS will, in turn, provice a' two out of four logic during normal operation or a two of three logic when roe ' channel is f
bypassed during service or testira.
This system will automatically trip the reactor when seismic acceleration exceeds 0.li8g alorg either horizontal axis or 0.60g in the vertic.1 direction, consistent with AGS recommendations.
De system was pro ri?sd by the Westinghouse Nuclear Technology Division and Kinemetrics. ~ ~
The Unit Two installation has been completed and the Unit Three instr.llatica is scheduled for 'ecepletion before fuel load.
