Dear Mr. Collins:
River Bend Station-Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 In Gulf States Utilities Company (GSU) January 6, 1982 letter to Mr.
Seyfrit, GSU committed to inform your office of the status of our efforts on the potentially reportable concern reported to the Region IV Otfice on December 11, 1981. The subject of the concern was regarding loose mounting screws or fasteners used to assemble or mount the position switch assembly on valve motor operatsrs supplied by Limitorque. This letter is the status report GSU committed to provide by March 12, 1982.
GSU's investigation of this matter is continuing. Our architect engineer, Stone & Webster, is evaluating availabic information to determine if the deficiency meets the reporting criteria set forth in 10CFR50.55(e) and if any corrective action is necessary.
GSU will provide a status report to your office by July 9, 1982.
