Attention:

Mr.

R. A.

Clark, Chief Operating Reactors, Branch 3 g

//

Gentlemen:

g DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF TMI ACTION PLAN EQUIPMENT POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITSel AND 2 x

In Mr. Clark's letter dat-FebrMary 18, 1982 additional information was requested regarding-the identification and environmental qualification of equipmen3' installed at Point Beach Nuclear Plant since January 1, 1981 to meet TMI Action-Plan (NUREG-0737) items.

The attachment to this' letter lists new electrical equipment being installed to meet the requirrments of NUREG-0737.

Some of the equipment installed after January 1, 1981 has not been fully implemented since the new instrumentation racks and control panels associated with.this Equipment have not yet beca installed; None of the planned equipment installations

~

requires pre-implementation review in accordance with Wisconsin Electric's irterpretation of NUREG-0737, Enclosure 1.

In addition, various equipment items installed have not yet been environmentally qualified to the latest requirtments.

For example, new pressure

~

'Jand differential pressure transmitters at Point Beach are Foxboro

'N-E10 Series transmitters which are currently undergoing qualifi-cation testing to the requirements of NUREG-0588, Category I.

It is our intention to submit the environmental qualification information only after the equipment has been fully implemented and the final qualification test reports have been evaluated.

~

It is anticipated thatithis submittal can be made in' September 1982 for Foxboro transmitters.
