Radio-logical Emerdency Plan (Revision 2). which aru noted in Appendix C of your January 11, 1982 letter, are currently under ruview.

Changes to correct these deficienclea will be provided in accordance with 10CPR50.54(q), and will be co cpleted by thy 11, 1982, as required in your letter.

CP&L bulieves that the. actions daacribed in thio letter are responsive to the commants. contained in your Januar.' 11, 1982 letter and, upon completion, should form a basis for concladi.ng that Brunswick can respond to any seergency situation without unduo risk to the health and safety of the public.

The Corporate Emergency Plan is currently being ruvised to incor-porate changes made to the augmented emstguncy response organication as described in Revision 2 of the 3SEP Hmorgency Plan.

This revision will be cocpleted by April 15, 1982.

The ENS telephone extension in the TSC is operstional.

Carolina Power 6 Light (Cp&L) presently bel 1evas that peraonnel can

travel fred the TSC to the Control Room in a timely manner and that no additional procaderes ara required.

An evaluation will be coerleted by April 1, 1092 to determi:w the need for any modifications to the TSC.

The Emargency Plan and implementing proceduraa will be revised to show which rooms in the Service Building will be uaed for OSC purposes.

This revision will be completed by April 1,1982.

A backup OSC will be estahltshed by April 1, 1982.

34 Preselecting personnel for Re-entc/ Teams prior to an tr.ergsucy does not seem practical.

Only personnel qualified to be team mambers would be asked to volunteer.

Preselecting team members would be difficult dua to chift rotation.

PEP-4.3 has been approved by tha Plant Nuclear Safety committee to implemant CPil's commitmsnt for drills and exerttues.

PEP-4.3 util be ravised by April 1,1932 to require documentation for corrective actions resulting from drilla and osercises.

PEP-4,5 has been revised to incorporate annual disseminction of updated public infonnacion.

Corporate Communications will provide for familiarization of the news media through an annual briefing.
