deutleme nt Subjects Request for Approval to Move Dy6 Cylinders Without Talve Covers in ylace. Slot 1107. Docket 70-1151 License condition Number 36 of Suet 1107 requires that "only the Dr6 cylinders that have been processed and evecosted any be moved witbewt valve covers in piece". We have recently received thirteen (13) ase-weetinghouse UF6 cylinders from DOE which de not have the capability of attaching the standard valve covers.

Un therefore request a special ewooption from License Condittos Number 36 for these cylinders. authorising their movement free the UF6 cylinder 4torage pad to the Manufacturing Duilding and plecement la the

.vaportsers. Coce the cylinders are processed and evacuated, volve covers are not required. The following controle will be esercised during the faaeferer 1.

A supervisor or his designee shall are p=y the cylindere dering any transfers or movements (in addities to the individus1 operating the transfer equipment) to assure that appropriate precautions are taken and to roepeed to any comoval accorrence.

Personnel involved in the transfers eksil be regnettweted la emergency actions to be taken la the evout that a cy11ader vs13e is damaged during the treaefers.

In the unlikely event that a cylinder valve she=1d be damaged dering a traneter. the radiological consequences will be mialmal for the fellowing
