8 PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES FEBRUARY 1982 OPERATIONS UNIT 2 The unit began the month at 82% power in extended core fl.ow coast down operation.

Or. February 5, load was reduced for several hours to investigate and repair condenser tube leaks.

The unit was removed from service late on February 19 to begin the scheduled refueling, maintenance and major modification outage.

The reactor vessel head was removed on February 22 and fuel transfer to the fuel storage pool commenced on February 26.

UNIT 3 The unit began the month at full power.

On February 6, the unit tripped on loss of the 3 start-up feed.

The 3 start-up feed loss was due to a burned-off lead on the 175 breaker in the 220 KV yard.

The unit was returned to service on February 9 and reached full power on February 10.

A load drop to 650 MWe was taken late on February 12 for

' control rod pattern adjustment.

Full load was attained early on February 14.

The unit ended the month at full power.
