Dear Mr. Kay:
ro The Commission staff has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 72 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-3' for Yankee Nuclear Power Station. The amend-ment consists of changes' to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated February 9,1982, as modified by your submittal dated February 25, 1982.
The amendment revises the Technical Specification requirements regarding the minimum number of operable incore neutron detector thimbles for the remainder of Cycle XV power operation.
Copies of the Safety Evaluation and Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.
