Tiie enclosed acaorandu from L. Rubenstein to R. Tedesco dated September 3, 1981, forwards a status report by C. Tinkler on "anonalous" Lawrence Livemore flational Laboratory test results.
A rough draft copy of a very recent LLNL report dated Septen5er 1,1931 is attached to the status report.
The purpose of the status report is to discuss the results of testino and analysis perfomed subsequent to the itGuire hearing as related to the issue of fog fomation and the associated inadvertent inerting inside an ice condenser contain1ent.
Our current evaluation of the ongoin] work leads us to conclude that our earlier findings on the igniter system reaain valid.
Consistent with the requirement for the delonstration of adequate safety cargins in hydrogen control i.1 posed by the license conditions, we have requested the ice condenser owners to provide additional infomation to fully resolve this 'ssue by January 31, 1982.
