SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-219/93-09
This letter transmits the report of the resident safety inspection conducted by Mr. D. Vito for
l
the period May 18, 1993, through June 28,1993, at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating
.
Station. The inspection consisted of document reviews, personnel interviews and
observations of activities. The inspectors discussed the findings with members of your_ staff -
after the inspection. Inspector observations during this report period indicate that activities
were conducted safely.
'
The enclosed report discusses one licensee-identified violation (two examples) which is not
being cited because our review found the two examples to be promptly raised to
management's attention, were of low safety significance, and were followed by timely
corrective actions. Each of the two events involved an operator error / failure to follow
procedure issue. Increased management attention in the area of personnel performance and
>
attention to detail may be warranted to prevent similar future occurrences.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
