Dear Mr. Greeves:
Pursuant to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's financial assurance regulations under 10 CFR Parts 30,40 and 70, as applicable, Babcock & Wilcox Investment Co.
(BWICO) previously provided a Parent Company Guarantee with respect to the NRC licenses of its subsidiary, The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W)'.
The fiscal year of BWICO ended March 31,1993. In accordance with Paragraph 8 of BWICO's July 24,1990 Parent Company Guarantee, B&W herewith submits the following revised documents:
1.
Letter from the President and Chief Operating Officer of B&W regarding tangible net worth.
2.
Letter from the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of BWICO regarding the financial test - Alternative 1.
3.
Copy of BWICO Financial Statements for Fiscal Year 1993.
4.
Auditor's special report and reconciliation.

Greeves 2-June 28,1993 As has been discussed and agreed previously, B&W's financial assurance obligation for its Naval Nuclear Fuel Division (NNFD), SNM-42, is covered by a combination of government contracts clauses that obligate the government in regard to all but a very small portion of those costs and, therefore, only that amount for which the government is not obligated has been included in the total amount to be covered by the Parent Company Guarantee.
We believe the attached, revised documentation and the information pertaining to the NNFD referred to above fulfill the present financial assurance requirements for The Babcock & Wilcox Company. If you disagree or require other information, please advise.
