NRC REGION 1 INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-293/93-08
This letter transmits the NRC Region I inspection report for the routine, announced
inspection conducted by Ms.12 anne M. Kay of this office on April 26-30,1993, at the
,
corporate office in Braintree, Massachusetts and the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in
'
Plymouth, Massachusetts. Ms. Kay discussed the results of this inspection with you and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Our inspectors reviewed your actions to resolve six deficiencies previously identified during
NRC inspection number 50-293/91-201. Timely and effective resolution of identified
deficiencies play an important role in protecting the health and safety of the public. This
inspection included review of resolutions and corrective actions pertaining to setpoints,
drawings, procedures, instrumentation and setpoint calculations. The inspection consisted of
selected examinations of design records and procedures, interviews with personnel, and
'
observations by the inspectors.
Our inspectors concluded that the setpoint calculation program to support the twenty-four
month fuel cycle was comprehensive and adequately accounted for instrument, loop,
measuring & test equipment inaccuracies, and technical specification requirements. Within
the scope of this inspection, no safety concerns we.re identified.
