References:
Letter from H. W. Newton (SCE) to A. L. Coe (California Regional Water Quality Control Board, San Diego Region), NPDES Monitoring Report Unit 2, June 2, 1993 This letter transmits a copy of the referenced NPDES monitoring report for San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Unit 2, for the month of April 1993 (enclosed). This letter is being provided in accordance with section 3.2 of Appendix B to Facility License No. NPF-10 and NPF-15 for SONGS, Units 2 and 3, which requires Southern California Edison to report violations of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the NRC.
As discussed in the enclosure to the letter, an NPDES permit discrepancy was identified to have existed at both Units 2 and 3 because of a discrepancy in the analytical technique being used to determine total residual chlorine.
Upon identification, the discrepancy was corrected.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
