From May 24 - 27,1993, '.ne NRC administered requalification examinations to employees

areas important to pubbc health and safety and were conducted in accordance with Revision 7
,
!
to NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examiner Standards, ES-601, " Administration of NRC
Requalification Program Evaluations." The evaluation had two purposes, evaluating the
effectiveness of the licensed operator requalification training program at maintaining the
competency of licensed operators and examining the individual operators to determine if they
would satisfy the regulatory requirement of passing en NRC-administered examination prior
j
to license renewal. Both purposes were met successfully. At the conclusion of the
.
examination, the results and findings were discussed with Mr. Blackmore and other members

As evaluated by the NRC, all twelve operators passed the written and operating portions of
'
the examination and two of the three crews, made up of these twelve operators, passed the
i
simulator portion of the examination. The evaluation was conducted in accordance with the
i
criteria established in NUREG-1021, as cited above. As a result of the evaluation, your
l

,
regret any disturbance to your program caused by our delay in making the decision to fail the
one crew on their simulator examination.
