SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-219/93-05
This letter transmits the report of the resident safety inspection conducted by Mr. D. Vito for
the period April 6,1993, throagh May 17,1993, at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating .
Station. The inspection consisted of document reviews, personnel interviews and
e
observations of activities. Inspectors discussed the findings with you and members.of your
,
staff after the inspection.

Inspector observations during this report period indicate that activities conducted were
generally safe and conservative. However, we are concerned with the radiological controls
problems that occurred during work in the new radwaste building fill aisle area on May 7 and
May 11,1993. A reactive inspection was conducted by regional specialists on
May 17-18,1993, to assess the causes of these events and your corrective actions; the results
,
of that inspection are being forwarded to you separately.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC'.s " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and
its enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
