l Dr. Murley June 2,1993 An expedited review and approval of relief request PR-12 is request in order to conduct the required post-maintenance testing to demonstrate the operability of the 2A Service Water Pump. This pump is currently scheduled to become available for testing by June 4,1993.
~
PR-04, dealing ydth pump bearing temperature measurements, was previously granted by the NRC for some IST pumps other than RHR. The relief request now includes RHR pumps and requires approval by the NRC. Technical Approach and Position, PP-02, which is being withdrawn, was not appropriate for i
the RHR pumps since the pump bearings are in the driver and are required scope per IWP-1200.
Please direct any questions you may have to this ofIice.

Sincerely, 2A).
